Discipline

Discipline is defined as punishment or training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental facilities or moral character. Discipline is the methods used to gain control of, or teach a person, usually a submissive, slave, or little. It is mostly a lifestyle choice on part of both the Top and the bottom. In the fetish lifestyle the submissive has agreed to be trained as the Dominant sees fit. Domestic discipline can be a normal everyday occurrence in some 24/7 relationships. Any member of the fetish or even non fetish community can be interested or part of an acting disciplinary existence. In most lives, the term "to be disciplined" is a virtue meaning one follows instructions well or is very structured in their life. A disciplined person can be well organized, on time for all meetings, walk straight and have an air of knowledge surrounding them. As a concrete noun, discipline refers to an instrument of punishment, for example in mortification of the flesh, also known as flagellation. Such an instrument may also be applied to oneself, for example in penitence for not being sufficiently self-disciplined.

When a submissive misbehaves or makes a mistake according to the Top's rules or wishes, the Master or Mistress, Mommy or Daddy has the choice of methods of discipline. There are many disciplinary methods that can range from simple spankings, time out, or taking away a toy or playtime. Discipline can also be more creative such public displays of affection, making the submissive wear their or your panties or bra on the outside of their clothes, or the literal tying of one's balls or breasts. Discipline is also a fetish some people try for. Corporal punishment is something some fetishists thrive on and get off on. Some forms of discipline can be found in military scenes, Victorian discipline, ethnic or religious situations, or Mommy or Daddy/child relations.

Discipline Domestique

Every relationship has some manner of disciplinary actions and in all family settings there is at least one disciplinarian. In a husband or wife discipline domestique setting the significant other is the disciplinarian and teaches the other to treat themselves and others by a specific and preapproved set of rules. In most relationships the wife is disciplined to serve her husband and his friends; however that is not always the case. Sometimes the wife keeps the husband in line with the threat of disciplinary actions. This is a Domestic Discipline situation and the choice to enter into said relationship is solely up to the people involved. However once they have made the decision to enter into a wife discipline or husband discipline relationship the power has then been given over to the Dominant and the submissive relinquishes most if not all control.
